&. mission

( I ) PURPOSE     After the tragedy that befell Thavnair, many of its citizens were displaced and had to build new lives elsewhere. While some have found their way back home, others have chosen to remain on other shores. Thinking of a way to support its people, Meghaduta's ministers ratified a charter to establish a group to support the diaspora. And so the Children of Thavnair came to be.

( II ) AASHRIVAD     The estate of the Children of Thavnair, Aashirvad, houses the Thavnairian Outreach and Cultural Center. It serves both as the base of operations for the Children of Thavnair as well as a consulate building in Vylbrand. Located in the Mist, Aashrivad always has a warm cup of chai and a kind word for the weary travelers that grace its halls. (Halicarnassus - Mist - W1 P21)

( III ) OUTREACH     The driving purpose of the center is to be a source of support for the Thavnairian diaspora especially those who were displaced during the disaster the befell Thavnair. It provides job placement when possible as well as temporary lodgings for those newly arrived to the mainland. The staff of Aashrivad strive to provide a bit of home comfort for those who have flown far from Thavnair.

( IV ) EDUCATION     Aashrivad also serves as an educational center for those who wish to learn more about Thavnairian culture. In pursuit of that mission, the Children of Thavnair will often throw special events highlighting either the arts of Thavnair or a specific holiday. Meghaduta has been generous with its grants towards the Free Company which they actively utilize for events and to improve the grounds of Aashrivad

( V ) COLLABORATION     In the spirit of collaboration for the betterment of both Aashrivad and the Thavnairian diaspora, the center will often reach out to other organizations to collaborate on events that foster cultural exchange and cooperation. Members of the Children of Thavnair can often be spotted participating in open markets and other events both to ply their trade and also spread the word about the Children of Thavnair and their mission.

&. OOC

( I ) GENERAL     The Children of Thavnair's main FC is based in Dynamis, Halicarnassus. While we try to promote the RP scene in Dynamis, we also have members in our discord community from other DCs. With that in mind, we also hold events in Crystal and most recently Oceania. You do not have to be an FC member to participate in our events or RP with us but we would to have you if you're in Halicarnassus and if you're not we'd be glad to have you in the discord!

( II ) CULTURE     Thavnairian culture has a lot of both Ottoman Turkish and South Asian influences. While we incorporate those influences into our RP, we are also mindful of BIPOC sensitivity when it comes to portraying the fictionalized culture of Thavnair. Please be mindful of harmful stereotypes, orientalism, and fetishization when interacting with others in the group and when creating a character of Thavnairian origin.

( III ) INTERPERSONAL     Please refrain from bringing outside issues to CoT and act civil to players you don't get along with. Note: we are never gonna condone bullying, harassment, and criminal activities inside our space and will listen to both sides if there's friction in our chats. If you have proof the players you have concerns against is a harasser or engage in anything untoward please reach out to one of our Devas in discord.

( IV ) PLOTTING     We love intertwining storylines and highly encourage interaction between members. We also have a master document of headcanons for CoT called Jai Thavnair that you are free to reference if your character is knowledgeable about Thavnair or is from there. We do not require members of the FC or discord to adhere to these headcanons, of course. It's just for a bit of fun.

( V ) NO RP BLEED     A golden rule for playing our hobby. It's completely alright to play morally gray characters, villains, and some characters may conflict with yours. While it's kept between characters only and the conflict doesn't relate to a IRL prejudice, we'd like to ask our players to not enter into friction with other players regarding characters' behavior.
